Summary of the Role

We are recruiting an administrative assistant for the Parish Council to work 15 hours a week and support the Council to deliver on its vision and mission. The work you do will increase our ability to deliver well managed projects for the community and will see the successful candidate filing finance paperwork, proof reading and finishing off Parish Council packs, ensuring meetings are publicised and supporting the delivery of projects.

 

Working from the iconic Clock Tower in Wendover we need someone who will complement our team and be able to support the work of the Councillors. You will be an organised individual who can juggle several administrative tasks at once. Ideally you will be interested in Wendover and confident with the use of office software, in particular spreadsheets. Knowledge of finance and budgets would be helpful but is not essential.


As part of the team, you will:

  • Support the Parish Council in delivering community projects

  • Organise and proofread Council documents

  • Ensure meetings are well-publicised

  • Manage finance paperwork and general administration

What We Offer

  • 15 hours per week (term-time, 40 weeks per year)

  • Fixed-term contract (12 months, with potential to become permanent)

  • Salary: £8,577.72 per year (pro rata of £26,835 FTE)

  • Workdays: Three days a week (9:30 AM – 3:00 PM)

What We Are Looking For

  • Organised and able to juggle multiple tasks

  • Confident using office software, particularly spreadsheets

  • Interested in Wendover and community projects

  • Knowledge of finance/budgets is a bonus but not essential
